Networks in which ideas flow are worth more than networks without
Seth’s Blog: When ideas become powerful
One of the things I’m thinking about right now is how networks effect the spread of ideas, and how that in turn is influencing media and publishing outlets.
Tumblr is a good example of a network that’s rising thanks to the way that ideas spread on the network. With reblogging, saying that ideas “flow” seems more appropriate even.
It’s a bit passive, it’s a bit of recognizing an idea and silently approving of it, it’s a bit of commentary, and it’s a bit of an idea flowing downstream without knowing where it came from or where it’ll go next.
